Schnecke auf Senterscheibe vor blauem Himmel

Why is the snail sitting on the window pane?

That´s easy to explain:

She wanted to look inside and that is not possible from the ground. She sat on the floor and saw the big house. That made her curious and wanted to know more about it.

So the curious snail went to the wall and climbed it. Over the window sill, then on the window pane. It slid further up the glass, higher and higher. After all, she’s a snail and doesn’t need to be afraid of falling down.

Then you could see inside. She looked at everything carefully. Has examined the living room and discovered the breakfast that was on the table. There were tomatoes and cucumbers on it, as well as bread and cheese. Delicious!

She has lived in this garden for a long time and from experience she knows that there is always something left for her after such a good breakfast. Some dry cheese with breadcrumbs, a little tomato and cucumber. Well, a few leftovers that people there don´t want to eat, but which the snail really likes.

She knows that the cheese will be soft and tasty when the dew falls on it in the evening. The bread also tastes better when it is wet. She knows all this now because she saw it through the window. It’s still early, but the sun will soon come up and shine on her back if she stays on the pane. That always makes her very thirsty. So she turns around and slides down the window. Back over the windowsill and back down the house wall.

She’s about to make her way under the grass over to the compost. It’s cool and shady under the grass, she likes that. She slides down the familiar path. When it comes to the compost, she will wait for people to bring her leftovers. Then she knows she’ll have a really tasty breakfast.

She’s particularly looking forward to that today.
